The Kingdom of Sytengaard had kept the clans of the east at bay for many centuries, yet their keeps on the frontier of the Kingdom were particularly vulnerable. One such keep was the clans' next target. Its positioning was crucial is cementing a new path west because it sat guarding an axis of supplie lines and held dominion over vast fields of wheat. The keep was mostly undefended as its Lord had been away on a diplomatic visit to the King in the south with full retinue. The only noble left there was the Lord's daughter and a few paltry guards. When the keep fell she was at the mercy of the battle hardened yet weary clansmen from the east. They had there way with her, gutted her like an animal, and left her body as signpost for their new conquest. Eventually the news reached the King's court. The Lord of the keep, distressed at the brutal murder of his precious daughter, and humiliated before the Kingdom, vowed revenge. Little did the clans of the east know, that Sytengaard spies intercepted an important a few days after the keep's capture...A prominent clan warlord was to arrive to assume command of the keep with his young bride . The Lord of the keep, knew how he would regain his honor...
