I hit the post button on the last post too soon. Concerning needles 2: The long trial and error, and that I had to get the lighting very specifically in the right angle to make an indent even visible in the render, was the reason I changed to D-Former with a very tiny field for the next needle pictures. I think that's probably the same technique you are often using?
