It wasn't long before her struggles began to slow. Her arms felt like they were filled with liquid lead, and the laughs and the taunts seemed so distant. Even the fire in her chest, her lungs screaming for oxygen, started to feel distant. For a few brief moments, she wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't. It felt like a dream, the feelings so dulled she didn't quite know if it was happening or not.

The last thing she felt in her fuzzy, dreamlike state, was her hands slipping down from the Cat's butt and hanging limp by her sides. Maybe if the hand had released her head then, she could've returned to the present. But it held her in place, as what little she felt drifted away into darkness...
