Perhaps one additional remark about why the girls just shot Jacob and Malcolm so casually: In order to be able to win, they needed a gun, the guys needed to be unarmed and there could not be any "fair fight." They needed to just shoot immediately, not let the guys beg for their lives (while inching closer to the girls) or let them have some last evil speech (while inching closer.)
