Skimmed through the documentation and came across this:

So maybe that's why you think it looked strange before, I think I imported the .duf while still having Eevee set as renderer.
Made this comparison, used too much lightning and the "incorrect" version might look better at first glance but if you look at the guy's shirt texture it looks better with the correct materials. The shadow on the nose also looks better on the top version, I'm not using any denoiser or subdivision surface modifiers.
