Whether you are concerned about your privacy or not, is absolutely up to you. And I understand the problem to find reliable and generous filehosters. But you may have audience, that is bothered by the inquisitiveness of most internet services. Guro may be legal in most jurisdictions around the world, but it is - lets face it - not main stream. Therefore it is conceivably to raise suspicion in some countries - and I don't talk about NSFW.

Javascript and cookies are the most exposing tools you can think of. Ok, they were, as browser fingerprinting takes over. You can save the money you spend in any VPN and you can speed up your connection by skipping TOR, if you allow javascript and cookies anyway. You can't avoid them, if you are addicted to "angry fruit salad"-design or belong to the generation "self-exposers". Apart from that you find tons of information - most of it on sites with classical webdesign, made with HTML and proper tags to help disabled humans and semantic search-engines. BTW, there is a "trend of revival" for this style of design and hopefully this will become the "newest internet". IMHO websites that consist purely of scripts are made by ignorant, lazy or incompetent designers, who don't deserve this title. Period.

Privacy and security go hand in hand. Every personal info can be "used against you". So a little bit paranoia may save one's ass - depending on where he placed it. :))
