I think things should reset only when they die although in that case it becomes unclear to which point they reset.

Keeping pets is possible although I doubt if it is necessary to have anything cute when they have cute girls. Maybe they keep some pet alligator, pet python or maybe some pet dog whom they feed human meat. :) Some carnivorous plants or tentacle monster also may exist :) If someone is interested But then it will probably be another series of girls feeding animals :)
Just that for now they don't have that many people around but village probably will expand in the future.
