I think this village may be some ghost town with quite some stuff to discover.

The idea of this village was that you may live in the nearby town with all technology and stuff or in this boring village with just few people where you don't die but don't have anything to do which is why they behave so weird :)

But it is not much fun if nobody cares about dying at all so I think if characters discover it slowly will be more fun.
