This is what I tried to mention. "Ovaries" derives from latin "ovum" meaning "egg". In english "ovum" is the technical term for "egg cell". Masses of these are stored in the ovaries. And as a little smartass I know that at least in german slang the testicles are sometimes called "Eier" meaning "egg". ;D
