I'd say don't be afraid of foreplay. It's sexy and fun to watch, so definitely not boring, and it helps you set the story and narrate who the characters are.
It's like in written stories. You could probably summarize most good stories in /lit/ in about 1/10 their actual length, but what makes them interesting is all the fluff and details, the characters, etc. Not just the raw factual action.
