(And then there's a part where I don't want to mix guro/kink with [most of] my favorite characters because I associate those characters heavily with the logic of their in-universe existence, logic that I prefer not participate in my guro/kink because it actively detracts from it and makes things upsetting instead of fun. And then there's situations like Akua Sahelian being canonically in her universe being into Cat tearing her heart out, something where in-universe logic genuinely works out, and THAT I like… but if I try to write something that does more with that than canon did, I have to write an entire AU that sets up for it, because that's how my head works)
