I like both forms of guro.

I prefer a willing victim, however, to be depicted as understanding that they're actually going to suffer (and probably die), not as if it's happy-happy fun time. Driven by an insatiable need for something extreme, or a desire to provide someone else pleasure from their suffering, no matter the personal cost they must pay to provide that pleasure.
