If you can only imagine something that can happen in reality, you're missing out on the fun of imagination.
The whole absence of projecting it onto reality is what allows one to enjoy it as good fun instead of horror.
You say suspension of disbelief, but I don't want to believe in such horrors, I enjoy knowing it's NOT real.
If one wanted to enjoy the realism, might as well just watch the news, plenty of horrible deaths happening with no disbelief.
I come here to escape from that shit, to push violence into the realm of fiction, to dissociate it from reality so as to not go insane.
