How difficult is it to use? Do I need a degree in computer science and programming skills? How long did it take you to reach this level of perfection? No I'm just joking. The reason is mostly technical. I started most of these series on a computer with a graphics card that only had 2GB memory. As you probably have noticed, when a scene exceeds the size of the GPUs RAM by a certain amount (I still don't know the exact rules for that), the scene gets rendered with the CPU. And that increases rendering times for decent quality from usually minutes to many many hours. So I avoided anything "unnecessary" in a scene that could add a big amount of texture memory consumption, like clothes or hair for the men. I now have a Geforce 980 with 4GB and probably could add clothes to two or three person scenes, but old habits die hard I guess. By the way, my renders usually take ten to maybe forty minutes. But >>14629 and >>14630, in which all six characters are visible and which had to be rendered in the CPU took about 20 hours each.

>>15747 You should definitely try out DAZ Studio, after all it is free to use. You also get a small amount of characters and props with it so you can start playing around immediately. But you have to know that most of the useful content is not free and it can cost a lot to gather more stuff.

Using the program does not require programming skills, but you do have to learn a lot if you want to do more than just a simple portrait of a character. And it is not intuitive to use. The tutorial that comes with it only explains the barest basics. But there are tons of tutorials on the web and on youtube and with a bit of searching you can find explanations for almost anything.

Oh, and something I forgot: Be sure you have a PC with a decent Nvidia graphics card. That's not an advertising for Nvidia, but if my knowledge is still correct, Daz Studios Iray rendering machine simply does not use AMD-Graphics cards for rendering. That means you would be quite frustrated with rendering times, even if you have fast computer otherwise.

You can use 3Delight, which is another, much simpler, rendering mode in DAZ Studio, but the results are in my opinion far inferior to Iray.

I started with CPU rendering, but later managed to get gtx1080 so my computer can render anything in few minutes and I never encountered a situation where GPU would lack memory.
You must be spending all day on rendering such series if it takes 40 minutes for one image.

Considering memory requirement, you can reduce them quite a lot if you rescale textures. Halving their resolution does not affect quality that much (and cannot even be noticed if you are not doing extreme close-ups) but reduces memory consumption more than twice. there are even scripts available that will resample all textures.

Here I would say that 3delight is not that bad if you use it right.
in fact, I am considering to move from Iray to 3delight myself because it is much faster (about 3 minutes for one picture) for complex scenes while picture quality is not much different from what you managed to make using iray.
As the additional benefit, you can turn off shadows what simplifies lighting.
But since I have this very fast video card it is funny that rendering time is pretty same on both engines and sometimes iray even manages to do job faster.

Btw, you did explained your secret what way you use to you push skin of your characters.

Sorry Onix, I forgot that question about the needles. I guess you mean in >>15622 and 15623. I did that with the smoothing modifier applied to Carla, the needle as collision object. an collision iterations set to the maximum of 100. That produced the deepest indent I could get with such a small object. I also needed some trial and error for the exact positioning of the needle.

And thanks for correcting me on 3delight. I admit I have never used it much.

I hit the post button on the last post too soon. Concerning needles 2: The long trial and error, and that I had to get the lighting very specifically in the right angle to make an indent even visible in the render, was the reason I changed to D-Former with a very tiny field for the next needle pictures. I think that's probably the same technique you are often using?

Sure you can leave things to the imagination, but you have to give some hint for that imagination

I also often end in the similar situations where I have to insert some dummy picture just to separate things and not make them look as if they are a continuation of the same action.

The text is ok, but we still see the picture before we read the text and this creates some confusion like "hey, whast the hell Something is wrong here" and then read the story and see what happened.
Other authors on pixiv in that situation simply add a black or very dark page with text describing what happened so you probably could do same if you don't want to bother rendering anything.
Especially since you make so detailed picture sets that nobody even expects missing content.

Even if I am not that much sexually interested that stuff much it is still interesting to follow your story and see what will happen, so I will be waiting for the next batch.

I loved the "nature channel" element of the story. It made the story different from the "I'm gonna torture you because it's fun."

The water effects only really bothered me in the last frame, probably because the water didn't really matter as much for most of the other frames.
