if you will get it all at once you will just finish it in a few minutes even if it took many months to produce.

Professional artists will of course publish finished products.

But for me, the only payment is getting comments, praise (and criticism!) and that's what keeps me motivated to put in time to go on with a story. And like Onix said, there is also the element of interaction. In my case it often takes a long time until I take up a suggestion, and yes, I only take up suggestions that fit my own tastes, but if you are patient you might see a fantasy pictured eventually.

But I have a few short general tips. You asked about the guillotine: Only very few people create characters and other things for Daz or Poser themselves. Everybody else gets them ready made. The three main sources for characters, clothes, hair, environments and many other things I know are daz3d.com, renderosity.com and renderotica.com. Go to these sites, have a look around and get a fell for whats available.

All three sites offer some free stuff, but most of the professional products cost money. And if you want lots off stuff that costs quite a bit of money. Of course there are also ways to get these items for free. I am in favor of paying the creators of 3d content as often as possible, but you have to ask your own conscience about that.

You will notice that the products often say "for Genesis 3" or "for Genesis 8". That means that it fits best to that character. Using an item made for one base character with another base character is possible, but sometimes not easy and you need time consuming adjustments. If you start only now, my recommendation would be to stick with Genesis 8 male and female stuff, because they are the newest version of human base characters. While there is still more content for G3, the last generation, around, most new content is now created for G8.

There are also some packages on the sites I mentioned that will give you instant wound, blood and bruise effects.

The guillotine was part of a package of items made by the creator Davo. He has specialized on torture and bdsm stuff. You find his stuff on renderotica. If you buy anything, make sure you buy a version marked "for Daz Studio", not for Poser.

That's enough for now I think. If you are still interested I'll tell you more about my methods for wounds and blood in a future post.

That's exactly my hope too. But I forgot to mention my most important tip to beginners: If you run into basic problems like not finding out how to use certain functions in Daz Studio, google first before you ask me. There are tons of tutorials and tips about Daz to be found in forums and on youtube.

If that does not solve your problem you can still ask me, or I guess other artists on gurochan.

Where google probably is less helpful is the area of my "special expertise" I gathered mostly by trial and error when trying to do torture and guro pictures: wounds, blood, bruises and small body deformations. If you think one of my "special effects" looks good, you can ask how I did it anytime.

Now this is going to be my last post in this thread, except for reactions to comments or answers.

I will start a new thread with a new story in a few hours.
