Yup, you gen without HighRes and only do the guide for a specific gen you like. In my opinion this is faster anyway since you don't wanna highres process trash gens anyway.

I do the inpainting over the upscaled-multidiffused version afterwards.
You can also upscale > correct small things on photoshop and then process on multidiffusion, because multidiffusion works sort of like a full image inpaint, but don't worry about workflow tricks for now, just test it to check the quality gap.

That's from the guide, x_NMKD-Siax_200k and 4x_foolhardy_Remacri are good.
Siax slightly washes out colors so I use Foolhardy. Either works but it doesn't matter that much since multidiffusers will reconstruct detail anyway. Those have the least quality loss from what I've tested
