Most popular characters would be a part of the base model for Illustrious and Pony. There's also when the model was trained, if the character became popular after it was trained it is unlikely to be a part of the base model, so an older model like ponyv6 might be missing some new characters. I like to check gelbooru to see if it might be a part of the base model or not. (https://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=sawachika_eri+) Shows only ~300ish entries. I find most characters with 1k+ are a part of the base model, so this character will likely need a Lora to be made.

Character Lora's are relatively easy to make if you have the hardware for it. I personally follow this guide (https://civitai.com/models/281404/lora-training-guide-anime-sdxl) to make simple Lora's. It's quite old now and I wouldn't follow it religiously but it should still be an okay starting point. Character Lora's are braindead easy to make so just collect at least 20 images and I'll pop one out for you super quick.
