i'm at around 16 hours already, even with the most expensive package they offer. earlier this month xAI said they're going to start selling compute to competitors instead of using it for their own platform. i assume the rate limiting is based off current capacity of their systems and they just offloaded an entire datacenter to Anthropic. Imagine was also totally offline for a few hours yesterday - couldn't even access old saved content. there's also a lot of sales happening on grok and x related subscriptions - seems like a desparate play to keep it afloat while merging with SpaceX - and a subscription spike may be causing more compute draw and thus more rate limiting.

xAI has been falling behind the other major players in the AI scene and i wouldn't be surprised to see them shift towards more specialized AI for their cars/rockets instead of continuing to develop chat bots or video slop generators. definitely does not look good for grok.

but also this rate limit shit has happened before, maybe it'll get sorted out in a day or two. the only consistency with rate limiting has been its inconsistency.
