Press Release, Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare
Date of Release: October 18, 2026
Issuing Agency: Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
Subject: Sporadic Cases of "Atypical Cervical Tissue Hyperplasia and Hyperactivity Syndrome" Reported in Urban Areas; Public Urged to Shelter in Place and Refrain from Panic
Regarding the recent cluster infection events of "Atypical Cervical Tissue Hyperplasia and Hyperactivity Syndrome" (hereinafter referred to as the Disease) in specific urban areas, the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) states that the current epidemic is well within a controllable range. Relevant authorities have initiated the highest-level "High-Intensity Physical Environmental Clearance Operation." The public is advised to safely quarantine at home and refrain from believing or spreading unverified internet rumors.
Recently, sensational messages such as "unknown monsters biting off people's heads and replacing them" and "infected individuals mutating into monsters hunting the living" have been circulating online. The Ministry strictly clarifies: such statements are purely exaggerated and false. According to CDC epidemiological investigations and clinical observations, this Disease is merely an immune response triggered by a variant multicellular symbiote. While it may cause temporary alterations to the host's physical appearance, it is absolutely not an "alien invasion" as depicted in science fiction movies.
