Yes, this is what the emotion update should be about. But right now out of the 2000 assets 1600 of them are expression related (brows, eyes), so adding a few more right now would drastically increase loading times and sizes

What kind of platform/browser are you using. Also which file did you try to open? index.html or play.html? There is also troubleshooting section in user manual.
Judging by this error message, it's a problem with opening .html files, so make sure you've extracted the .zip file before playing.
