You can already zoom in and out with the menu buttons (and up TEXTURE_SCALE if your pc can handle it), and advanced zooming is not really possible with this rendering setup.

That's why 4.x.x - if it ever becomes a reality - will have a character creator. Adding a few wouldn't solve anything when there are thousands out there, and every single one of us has different preferences.
