Max grabbed MacKenzie tightly by the hand and pulled her roughly along with him… she suddenly found her legs moving on their own accord, carrying her through the breaking waves, and back to the shoreline. All around them were beachgoers getting blasted by alien heat rays. Some tried to outrun their extermination, but only a handful managed to make the run up the beach and out of sight. The two of them broke out of the ocean and legged it for the hotel… if they could get back to the car at the hotel, maybe they could evade the invasion force for long enough to make a plan about what to do next. First came surviving.
