Is there a future for guro manga? I notice in my own scanlation work that I exclusively translate stories/volumes by artists in their 50ies, 60ies and even late 70ies. And I don't see any exciting young new talent. The last time a guro anthology magazine was published in Japan (Erogros in 2018), the only stories that stood out for me in terms of art and content were, once again, those by the same well-established artists who have dominated the genre for the past 30+ years. So, if anybody knows of up-and-comning artists that do manga and not just CG artwork, give them a mention ITT and counter my dread that guro manga will die out once the old guard retires or passes on.
