No, they're not. That would be suicide.

those those people do exact opposite they use razor blades that cause almost no pain at all but damage is enormous.
That's what a lot of former self-harmers regret the most. They were destroying their bodies just for temporary comfort. Is it worth in the long run? Not at all. Does it feel pleasant at the moment? Of course.

Personally, I find needles kinda scary and don't use them. I'm not speaking for others, as I've read about people using them for self-harm. It's not uncommon.

It might be tied to suicide, but in a much more roundabout way than you think.
