How much sense it makes if you want to avoid other people seeing your scars but you do not even take any effort to avoid making those scars in first place

My point was that it is not that kind of suicide where goal is to die immediately, this is suicide where the goal is to increase your own chances of dying which is comparable to other similar ways.
This is very common for people who lose meaning of life.

I guess that self-harmers even dream about wounds getting infected and infection killing them.
