I, personally, am fine with either day-month-year or year-month-day, as both of them are properly consistent. Month-day-year on the other hand is just ridiculous, it's like if you wrote time like "minutes:hours:seconds" or a number like 125 as "twenty and one hundred five". But the existence of it makes the year-month-day format preferable just so that seeing something like 02-08-2077 you don't have to wonder if it's the second of August or the eighth of February. On the other hand this can be solved by writing it as 02-Aug-2077.
