...anyway, I'm sure there used to be a way to force the browser to ignore styles and render sites with a very basic appearance, but there doesn't seem to be that option in the menu any more. At least not in Chrome. Might have been an IE or Firefox (or Opera?) thing? Presumably there's an extension you can download for it.

(no idea of how to enforce a custom style sheet as a discrete thing, anyway)
