Exactly. Is it surprising that people would fantasize about being someone else? Isn't it common to fantasize about doing things that you don't want to do?

It would seem that most violent power fantasies are like this. One might fantasize about being an action hero, shooting people, blowing things up, but that doesn't mean those things are really desired. Most people would be horrified to shoot a gun at a real person. It's a fantasy about another life where you're not you, and you do things you wouldn't want to do, but in the unreality of the fantasy it's all good fun.

On the victim side, it is fairly common for people to fantasize about being raped. Obviously they are making the fantasy happen in their minds, so nothing is being forced upon them, but they're putting themselves in the place of the victim, imagining being someone who doesn't want this fantasy to unfold this way.
