Please, Onix… How could you expect
that effrontery…? Not from someone that
innocent like me… ;)

No, seriously:
The post clearly states some highly demanding expectations from the consumer-side of the
equation.

I just want to ask some honest questions, tough
I deeply suspect to get a distinct set of
answers I already expect getting.

I'm not trying to make it anywhere, here on the
web. Not after we have already split hairs and
feathers about this topic.
I've learned my lesson and I know where my place
is.

I'm still convinced, that the average online-user
as a group isn't able/willing whether to attract nor
to maintain serious (mainstream/commercial-grade)
talent in this field.
So I do not even bother trying anymore.

I did some research, my 'homework' and
nailed down tons and tons of almost exclusively
female artists centered around the whole
guro-scene.
Many of them really on par with what I would objectively evaluate as serious pro-grade
performers. Very good.
According to the requirements mentioned,
they seem to tick all the right boxes.
But guess what:
The vast majority of those really well-performing
skilled artists are all DEAD.
- In an online-sense.

Dead links, abandoned homepages, for years not
updated profiles on well known platforms,
Good-bye-messages in online journals…
.. the list goes on…

dabbeling through r/guro on reddit, I found
a recent post of the seemingly last available
images of some artist (this one was trashy, but
it makes for a good example).
This artist seems to have nuked his/her pixiv-acc,
rendering all his/her works 'lost' in the ether
of the web.

Hmm… I wonder why….

Suddenly, there is (a little) outcry:
WHY, OH WHY… how could this happen, OH dear
lord, I hate that the artist has done that damage,
deleting his stuff…. blah blah blah….

If my gut-feeling is right,
We're facing a (female-centered) community
with high expectations,
but a pretty low potential when it comes to
RETURN the favor ON the INVESTMENT someone else
(the artist) has already made in advance.

I've bitched myself enough about the community
that has gathered here on gurochan.
But nobody had expectations or expressed any
form of entitlement. 'We get what we can get and
If we don't we don't even care'.
Careless… but at least honest.

I'm honestly just thrilled to get an answer to
these questions.
