I think that here in the western hemisphere,
the gender-breakdown regarding the social dynamics
of the 'hobby' isn't really such a breakdown…
more of a 'crack' on the surface.

Clearly, women and men like to see/imagine quite
similar things, the true separation in between the
genders seems to break down more on the topic
'what floats your boat/ hits your kink?', thus
separating men and women more by topic than
gender, since women seem to be far more versatile/adaptive
on the kinky side, I suspect that there is actually
a great overlap between the two genders
and the differences appear mostly on the extreme poles
of the margin-area and are … well … marginal…

As for community and engagement?
I suspect that women prefer to keep themselves amongst
each other just because the quality of the engagement
that most men provide is considered low.
Honestly, I have to strongly agree.

The only thing that I cannot stand is the
imbalance between what the women-community seemingly

I see a common pattern in communities assigned
to BOTH genders:

The stuff that holds the community together is
image-sharing.
The images that are shared are mostly very old ones,
which just get reposted over and over again, just
because someone wasn't aware of its existence in
the first place.

Just watch r/guro on reddit for a while…
Its repetitive…

Some recent works of new and naive artists pop up here
and there, which are neat… but really not cutting
it.
Most of the new and naive artist are soon to disappear
because they realize, that's not worth the effort.
So their 'new' stuff gets refurbished the same way
the old stuff mentioned before.
This is the mechanism that provides the community
with 'fresh' content.

The reason, why the content created or catered to
men or women is that limited in the depiction of
the entirety of the situation, not illustrating the
emotions involved or a proper fuck-scene is that it
takes time to do so.
