I don't think this specific work is 3D generated.

I know of artists that use a 3D model as a
reference, especially when it comes to extreme
difficult perspectives or poses of the human
figure.
I heard about tracing of 3D renderings, to use
that as a foundation to work on.


What bothered me about this specific image was
just the overall sloppyness.
