As a woman who is interested in guro, it's important for me to note that my interest and my subsequent enjoyment is supremely narrow in scope. I feel like I take forever to find something I really feel is what I'm looking for. The equivalent being clicking "next page" on pornhub in a subcategory you know you like but still not finding the ONE until page 54.

The reason I think I enjoy guro is the give and take of it. I like snuff for the power dynamics between people no matter the gender–for the ultimate finalization of something irreparable. It's the concept of death and most notably brutal death that fascinates me…but only in a fictional sense. In my own fantasies, I'm usually not a player at all but like the fly on the wall observing. I like to make characters, design their personalities, and then play them out in scenarios. Sometimes those scenarios end badly and usually when I feel like having a good time with just me and my thoughts (and my hand!) that night.

Not only that but I find that MOST of the gurochan community is very polite and will go out of their way to provide a picture you're looking for (that one you forgot to save like an absolute walnut!) and just cannot find.

Most of the other people I interact with outside gurochan are women who have fantasies focused around snuff but I haven't delved deep into the specifics with them though from the fictions they write, they don't seem weighted for one gender or the other, it's pretty evenly dispersed.

As an XX woman, I feel like more women than you think are 100% freaky and would totally be down with guro just because our own made-up fantasies are sometimes a hell of a lot more weird than the basic stuff we find on here. I've read whole torture-snuff fics on Ao3 written by women that have read like violent classic literature. It's beautiful. Personally, I think women have this incredible ability to create and recreate fantasies that get internalized and may never even see the light of day because they don't find communities like this OR they don't find communities like this that are WELCOMING TO WOMEN. There's a wealth of crazy powerful gore fantasy out there in the female mind that is just untapped potential because they haven't stumbled over communities that foster their potential.
