>Comments about women are not comments about YOU unless you claim that all women are like hivemind borg and they are all same.
That is a very astute observation that really gets to the core of the issue. Because women are obviously not a hivemind, anything said about women can never apply generally to women. There will always be plenty of women who won't fit into any mold anyone tries to put women into. Whenever anyone says women are this or women are that, the real message we get is that the person making these statements is a fool who doesn't understand that people are unique.
If a fool is trying to push you into a mold, then there is good reason to expect the fool will make you seem to fit. One can hardly expect to reason with a fool. Anything you say to a fool will most likely be misinterpreted, since we are talking to a fool. If we don't like the mold that the fool is trying to push us into, then it is going to be a very frustrating experience. It doesn't drive people away because they are ashamed of fitting the mold; it drives people away because they are annoyed by the experience of talking to fools.
If we don't want to give the impression of being fools, it is better to clarify that we're not trying to talk about a hivemind by saying "some women" or "many women" or "60% women" or whatever.
