I really don't like that sentence.
I strongly believe, that free speech is
the major problem-solving mechanism
democracy has provided us to address the
problems that bother us the most:
The difficult ones.

Whenever there is a delicate problem with
society, that needs to be solved,
free speech is the first step we can take,
to at least raise awareness, even if
the establishment doesn't want us to.

That being said…:
I get your point.

Trolls aren't a the establishment but an
ever occurring self-feeding problem.

I might add that trolls don't only
[a] waste others time
shy away valuable community members
but also:
[c] seem to be able to 'discourse' the
focus of an entire discussion.

EG.:
This thread started out with the intention
to provide a gender comparison regarding
guro and was on a REALLY PROMISING way.
Hell, we also got reg chime in to provide
some insights from the administrative side
of the game.

And now we are discussing boring
politics.

That's baaad… and I also fell into this
trap…

Trolls are an ever occuring problem,
eating up resources where they can and
leveraging every right (eg.free speach)
granted to them, only to, agreeing to J.D.,
gain power and silence.

And sacrificing their valuable saturday
night to do so, I might add…
BOOOBOOO, poor no-friend-onix…. XD

Trolls seem to defy any form of social 'Gravity',
giving them seemingly 'supernatural' powers.
You cannot argue them, because they are
resilient to reason.
You cannot ignore them, because they suck up
everything in the long run.
You cannot harm them, because they possess
nothing worth loosing.

The only way to rule them is through violence.
Therefore there must be some form to assert
violence, even if that means giving up some
ethical standards.
So… yes, I am pro-BAN.

From a sheer business point of view,
it's a numbers game.

There might be a number of ppl. that shy
away because there are mechanisms in place,
that assert power/violence over unwanted
members of a community.

On the other hand, there might be a number of
ppl that are attracted by the protection
mentioned power provides.

female communities seem to fall under the
second [2] category.
From what I've heard so far those communities
seem to thrive and are in general in a good
shape.
For me, that is proof-of-concept enough.

The only weakness I suspect is that those
female-controlled communities seem to be
separated and spread across the web.
(maybe I'm wrong)
If mentioned female communities would unite,
I am sure, they would outrun any male
dominated community just by the numbers
of active users.
