OP I can tell you're a teenager or a shut-in because if you had an ounce of life experience you'd understand 1) that you are projecting your own fears and inadequacies onto women, and 2) that, like men, women are varied and multifaceted human beings. Some are good on the whole, some are bad all around like you, most are somewhere in between just trying to get through the day. You've probably never suffered a day in your life so maybe there's hope for you after you live a little, but I doubt it.

And you >>10641, Horus, need to recognize that there are worldviews and character traits you can't hug away. People are moldable, but some worldviews — like those of the slave owners — are tied in to a person's ego and cannot easily be changed. Some character traits — again see the slave owners — arise from those rotten worldviews, and others are congenital. Narcissism is thought to be mostly congenital, and most mass shooters are thought to be narcissists. Psychopathy is thought to be entirely congenital. Either way, congenital or not, you can't always hug it better. Ted Bundy was incurable, and most slave owners were all but incurable.

Maybe OP's curable, maybe he's not, but you'd need to do more than just hug him. He has an entire worldview that would need to be changed, and it's tied in to his ego and his image of himself. Even if he were the sort of person who actively tries to understand the world — and he's not — you'd still need to spend a while convincing him, not just altering his emotional state. As it is there's probably little you can do. You could gather up stories of heroic, self-sacrificing women, women who went to war zones to care for the innocent, women who invented new medicines, and that shit would bounce right off him because his hatred of women props up his ego.

You think the guys at Bayer pharmaceuticals, who knowingly sold HIV-infected blood transfusions to hospitals around the world, could be hugged better? Not all shittiness derives from trauma. Those guys were intelligent and calculating, and the lives they destroyed didn't keep them up at night because they were wealthy egotists who saw themselves as apart from and above the rest of humankind. I should use the present tense, actually, since they're still alive and still rich.
