>It's only guro if it's intended to cause arousal, so not really. People aren't born blank slates, so my guess is guro fans were born predisposed to it.

It is not quite right, because results are not always the same as intentions and you may not know true intentions either

If you just try to look around you may notice very interesting trends that confuse many adults. For example, do you know the "Elsagate" scandal on youtube when it was filled with lots of very stupid videos for children and while none of that video had anything even remotely resembling something sexual for normal adults it was quite evident that it is nothing else than porn for children.
Everyone was scratching their heads why all that absurd nonsense that involves the nastiest things possible (although very cartoonish) had such a huge popularity in the young children's audience. Eventually it got banned just because it was too cringy for adults.

It is pretty well-known fact that children love blood violence messy things scat and everything else that makes grown-ups cringe.

So when you write a book for children it is a form of art how to put those fetishes into your book while also not triggering parents who will be buying that book
for example
this is a children's book that involves cannibalism. but to pass it as a valid book the moral of the story is that this is something wrong.

The same can be said about older cartoons where characters are blown up squashed burned cut in pieces decapitated absolutely for no reason just because all that stuff is nice to see.(at least for a certain audience)

There is nothing to be disgusted about corpses, guts, or shit. Before you take corpses seriously you at least have to learn the concept of death and to develop empathy you first have to know that being shot in the face or your guts being ripped out actually hurts and causes harm.

yes maybe not everyone is equally interested in all that weird stuff, but just not looking at the disguised guro popularity out there we should have far more fans.

In my opinion, the problem is that guro is badly presented to the mainstream audience. We do not have enough of happy nonsensical guro with no consequences and when normal people see it they get the wrong impression.
Of course, not all guro fans have the same internets either.

Youn can be right that interest in guro and other fetishes may be the result of the lack of normal sexual experience but either way, I don't see any reason why you cant combine first-person shooter game and sex, and have a fantasy where you blow up your girlfriend during sex making her guts fly around and rain blood.
You do that with your friends so why not do the same during sex in your fantasy?
It also can be pretty fun roleplpaly /foreplay where you tell your girlfriend ho do you shred her in pieces and she possibly does the same or whatever she prefers.

Also, those strange sexual preferences may actually be just being stuck in your childhood, where you want to play and have fun and see sex as a form of fun rather than some kind of lust and attraction to someone.
