You're right. I'm sorry, I was being toxic in how I was putting down your preferences compared to my own.

I'm already well past the point where depictions of violence or gore affect me in any visceral way, and I do consume guro content as a form of entertainment, so I guess I'm in the "fun" category in that sense.

I'm just way more interested in the dramatic aspects of guro scenarios than anything else. Like, it's much more interesting to me to imagine the fear and anticipation of a character being marched of to a public beheading, or the betray when your spouse tells you you're going to be cooked alive so they can get that next promotion, or the horror of seeing a family member's corpse mounted above your enemy's fireplace like a hunting trophy. Those scenarios are full of emotion and drama because of the finality of death, just to give an example.

People read tragedy stories for the feels. That's kind of more in line with what I mean when I talk about consequences. I like guro content that feels like a tragedy for at least one part involved.

This is more a rant about story driven content rather than illustrations, and I regret not stating that at the get go. I can totally appreciate cute stuff like candy guro aesthetically.

I feel like that's probably a big part of it. The act of sex is a time when people are vulnerable. I feel like making the assumption that there's such an obvious link between sex and violence is projecting a bit ourselves a bit too much for people like us.
