I can relate, I also ended up expressing my interest by writing it, though I discovered that writing drive a bit later, after being kind of prompted to write some trash. Built on it and then thought "I like writing, actually," and explored my personal interests through this medium. There's also some guro written in a demon-focused mod of CoC, one scene being to snuff a sheep girl that asks you to save her town from these demon bandits that keep coming to rape and terrorize them. That's another influence of mine in how I write and approached the subject.

But, backing up, I developed the interest in guro before finding an interest in writing, and that began with waving a knife around as a little kid and just imagining it slicing through people. As I started dating around 12, that was very background part of my psyche, but I found a friend of mine had cutting marks on her wrist and it was exciting. After my boyfriend died, I ended up dating another girl, and i was drawn in toward more emo types. Eventually around 15 I was dating a girl that was just crazy, and loved the violent stuff a ton. She helped me pull a ton of my tastes to the surface. I also looked into art more by then. Good times. Terrible girlfriend though.
