Still probably not so easy to do in one day, but it's not my expertise to to speak. If the filter is going to be tag based, I think it should hide the entire thread if the OP post has a blacklisted tag, and in each post with the tag at visible threads. This would require people to start image dumping threads with tamer OP image (so it wouldn't affect the entire thread), but overall, it would satisfy everyone + encourage usage of tags, which I find a unique and very helpful feature.
