I think this is a part of the larger problem: throughout early 2010s, traditional forums (even anonymous ones like imageboards) have suffered a lot because people started moving to social networks and (later) private messengers like Discord etc. And the "fresh blood" - new people, mostly youngsters who grow up and start exploring Internet - have never been exposed to traditional forums in the first place, they already grew up with Facebook / Discord existing.

I really don't think that this is specifically Gurochan's problem, rather just the sad state of the Internet nowadays. Naturally there's more "information" available than ever before, because it keeps growing, but at the same time information is getting harder to get hold of because these public discussion spaces are becoming rarer.
