content behind the paywall has no value to pirates as it simply doe not exist for those who refuse to pay.
bringing content into public domain from the behind of paywall essentially makes you a creator of that content because you brought it into existence.

The fact how artists make money or if they dont make money or if they make or not make any wart is pretty irrelevant for the reason above. until the content is behind the paywall it does not exist and has no value.

Supporting artist has nothing to do with the content they made as for the start people pay not for wast artist already made but for what he will make in the future.
Paywalling content may be one of the ways to raise money but nobody is going to support artist who is just selling old stuff.
