Content behind the paywall definitely exists, and it is more valuable to a pirate than to anyone else. Stealing content from behind the paywall is exactly what makes a pirate a pirate. Piracy will never die, it can only lay dormant, it will always resurge when the access to a produce is hard to come by, think of Netflix as an example, when it was the only platform piracy went down in unprecedented amounts, now that every company wants to launch their own streaming service, piracy is making a huge comeback.

Something similar is happening with art (regardless if it is guro or not) there is way too many artists and way too many platforms, while I do believe artists deserve to be compensated for their work and I believe they have the right to have a decent living from their art alone, an increasing number of them have been becoming unfairly greedy to the customers.

Even those of us who hope to be legit and support as many of them as possible can only support a very small number of them before art expenses becomes a problem.

The problem with paywalling, at least in my opinion, is that it is becoming way too frequent and way too expensive, creating smaller and smaller niches, the consumer is being spread way too thin and it is resulting in the deaths of niche sites such as this one, which used to thrive by the generosity of artists that had some artistic integrity.
We will soon reach a point where thousands of artists will just drop creating content altogether, because they believe they deserve an equal cut of the pie than those who have been at the top for ages and have the game figured out. And when there is less art, everyone loses.
