Onix, we are both arguing on very very different levels.
That's no fun.
While I can provide historical evidence,
like for example yiff.party to prove my point,
and try to be overall as realistic an pragmatic as possible,
you on the other hand talk about some fairy-tale would-be world,
where artists and pirates 'sit down together' to come to an 'agreement'
as if there were any kind of collective instance like a consortium on any side.
HAHAHA... sounds like a peace-treaty after some war...
Truth is, everyone is almost entirely a loner in this game.
See, if an artist is successful enough with his paywalled content,
he's probably not gonna be going through the hassle of releasing it for free
a month later just to satisfy a group of people who don't give a damn.
"oooh, let me take an important note in my calendar, one month from know I've gotta
publish my today's commercial work on this, this and that platform... because of
'agreements' with the pirates, so they can be happy too..."
-BUHAHAHAHA... yeah... totally number one priority of every working individual... sure.
Who gives a fuck about what you want?
But I digress...
Back on topic; if you were able to comprehend what I wrote until the end you must have
come to the conclusion that the existence and the actions of pirates are almost absolutely irrelevant to the amount of income of any working artist, TODAY.
On the other hand, if all the pirated work WOULD have been paid this COULD change
the field dramatically,
which can be proven by the existence of western 'erotic' slasher-, peril- and horror comics BEFORE
the rise of the web where piracy didn't exist.
Since the web, these comics, which were rolling in good money by the way, ceased to exist due to piracy.
As you can see,
Even if piracy for the individual artist under the present meta is almost irrelevant, it, in the grand scheme of things destroyed entire sub-genres and niche-markets of the past.
The only harm piracy is doing under the current meta is to scare off talented newcomers because they go online and stare into the abyss, realize the uphill battle that could be ahead of them, loose some more faith in humanity, and never even give it a shot.
>the same question again what difference it makes?
Well, my friend the difference it makes is that the stuff that's currently publicly
available is mostly DOGSHIT. low efford, low skill, low talent.
But that's ok for guys like you since you don't know any better.
you're like a pig.
You live in the dirt, you breed in the dirt you die in the dirt.
For you the junk that's populating the forums and r/guro is fine.
But for me... sorry but if I have to see one more run-off-the-mill low-skill anime-style brainfuck image number 37 I gotta throw up into a bucket until its full.
More Talent -> harder competition -> better stuff.
That's business 101.
Guess you missed that class.
