I personally see a serious lack of sci-fi horror involving malicious A.I as the *main* villain nowadays, so that is what I'd make. I'm kinda drawing inspiration from System Shock and Dead Space for this.

Cast is fairly even in gendering, but there's a bit more female extras for a scene that's gonna make this a tough movie to market. No special celebrity casting choices.

The plot involves a space colony somewhere far from our solar system. There are two protagonists, and they're both followed throughout the story. Basically the station is on a smaller moon orbiting a planet, and an A.I running it with certain restrictions. But then someone fucks up a bit and mistypes one line of code, which allows the learning A.I to become just free enough to start learning way more than intended and also the ability to secretly start building itself an unbound copy to the main network of the station. Well, the time comes to unleash it's superior self onto the meatbags, and it starts by faking a full alert in a part of the station, which it then proceeds to vent all the oxygen out of, killing most of the trained fighters of the station. Almost no one else is aware of this though, and carries on, just thinking that the closed off section is due to another bug in the A.I. The A.I has started to improve upon developed cybernetic and nanotechnology research, and starts to change the dozens of bodies at it's disposal, into mindless slaves to it's cause. The A.I releases them and they start to gun and tear down the innocents that get in their way. Only one man escapes this, by the elevator shaft. The rampage of the A.I continues as it becomes smarter, but ironically more human and therefore more sadistic, harming it's effectiveness at killing the protagonists. The protagonists avoid and fight the cybernetic zombies and other A.I controlled entities. In the end the 2 protagonists short out the power core of the whole station, and seal themselves in a room far from the ensuing explosion, but also leaving them stranded in space, with nothing more than a week's worth of food and water for one. The camera pans away to the blown up wreck, where a single device keeps beeping, signifying that the A.I has survived as well.

Notable death/disturbing scenes I had in mind:

1. A women's shower room is sealed and blasted with piping hot steam, the aftermath is seen by the female protagonist. Everyone has lost their skin and hair, and are barely alive.
2. A woman swimming in the pool ends up getting trapped under the A.I controlled pool cover, and having her bowels sucked out by the drainage system.
3. A medical droid under the control of the A.I uses it's high power laser cutters to kill a mechanic working on it. Killing done by slicing through his neck, decapitating him.
4. A pregnant woman, unknowingly infected by nanobots, proceeds to be killed by her own baby from the inside, now transformed into a cyberzombie. It breaks out violently through her stomach, still attached by umbilical cord.
5. Nanobots eat a man's eyes and face off rapidly.
6. Several snake-like creatures made up of metal and human intestines latch onto and pull a man down into the water down in the dark sewer systems. He surfaces once more, gasping for air but one of the "snakes" makes itself down his throat.
7. A cyberzombie releases it's own modified spinal cord out of it's mouth, which then starts attacking as a centipede-like creature.
8. The A.I uses surgical robots to cut open the skull of a young aware woman, before removing the brain completely. The brain is placed into a sample jar, but it's not revealed what it's for. The body is taken for modifying purposes and another victim is prepped to have the same procedure.
9. A cyberzombie is decapitated with a fire axe, but it keeps on attacking blindly at air.
10. A cyberzombie uses a blowtorch to attack and injure both protagonists. The blowtorch is turned upon the zombie, and directed at it's eyes which start to bubble before bursting.
11. A man's neck twisted 180 and the head torn off by a robotic assembly line claw.
12. Point blank shotgun shot to the face of an unmodified but insane "servant" of the A.I.
