>Kuz and Kaguya are the best administration this site ever had
I beg to differ. The handling of this website over the last few years has been rocky to say the least. I have been a fairly frequent visitor of GC over the last decade, usually just checking the threads that interest me and mostly keeping to myself.
I don't know of any of this previous drama with a former mod. But for anyone to claim "Do not listen to any of the slander said here because it's either x or y person" is ridiculous. We should be able to criticize staff actions as we see fit if we disagree with them.
I'm still a bit miffed over the data loss of /g/. An entire years worth of content, gone. Backups were not updated. It took a disaster to "improve" the site (too little too late), which resulted in merging the old read-only archive to the current threads that were crippled from the data loss. I didn't agree with this move and still think it was a poor choice. Now we have this current mess of time-gapped threads.
Nothing has been said from the staff of the data loss from the loli3.net boards. I assume at this point they did not have an active backup for that site, and all content is lost as well. Itβs still running the old board software, are there any measures in place to combat spam if it happens again?
The "fastness" of the new board software doesn't really matter. This place has lost so many users it's slow by lack of population alone. And if the Kokonotsuba software was so "bad", why wasn't this place using the Vichan software when it came back online in 2021?
All this talk of a pre-2014 archive, and yet nothing has been posted yet.
From the front page
> To help negate the effects of this setback, kaguya secured a large source of funding from the Network Security Service (Kolyma NSS) to go towards expanding Gurochan's outreach, primarily aimed at capturing back the stunningly large amount of people who, after 2 years, are still not aware that gurochan came back in 2021.
What is the context here? What exactly does "outreach" mean? Advertising? I have seen no noticeable influx of new users here, going by the speed of boards and the activity of threads. This place is as dead as it was when it came back two years ago and nothing much has changed. One of the problems is that Discord, imo, has done a good job at eroding the general imageboard userbase over the last several years. The other reason, as stated before, is that CP plagued (plagues?) the site for a long time and was sometimes slow to be removed, making users "nope" the fuck out of here as soon as they visited.
Again I ask to site staff, can you please implement detailed date stamps by default instead of fuzzy/vague date stamps? It is an annoying growing trend among websites these days. It is tiring to have to scroll over the fuzzy date to see the actual detailed date. Some users may have tooltips turned off in their browser, so they will never be able to see the detailed date.
