Yes that right to some extent but very stupid too
as it would make more sense if rather than pretending that they buy stuff fans just admitted that they are simply supporting the artist because they can get everything for free anyway.
or economically if it was not available for free it woud make more sense to cooperate in obtaining stuff then trading it with each other rather than paying the artist.
Either way paywall simply doesn't make logical, sense but yeah it works somewhat

that's the thing which I see problematic with paywall in the first place, because if you present people with that kind of objective then it become a game to obtain that stuff at the minimal price. and even if I can pay I won't because the point of the game is not to pay.
