I am wondering how all this platforming thing will look like and if it will have anything to do with guro at all.

But maybe instead off draining power it woud make more sense to use them as playable characters aka you mind control them yourself. and if they do get killed that's done by your enemies.

I don't see what is the point of freeing them in this game and how that will even happen visually. But maybe there could be some game logic where you can either sacrifice them for more power or somehow make them useful. maybe they come to help you in the final boss stage.
