NOBODY gets hurt in fiction. CHARACHTERS can get hurt and die within a story. These statements don't contradict each other, because a fictional character is not a somebody.

The way characters are hurt / die in a fictional story is in the same sense as any events in a story occur. So Romeo and Juliet died in the end of Shakespeare's tragedy in the same way that Theoden led the cavalry charge in Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter attended Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books. At the same time it's also a fact that there was never a Romeo or Juliet who could actually die, never a Theoden to lead a cavalry charge or orcs to charge against, never a Harry Potter and never a Hogwarts. The former is a fact describing what each story tells about and the latter is a fact describing that the things told in those stories are not real. If you can't fit both of these facts inside your head at the same time, the problem is within your head.

Also your argument was that in MY stories specifically characters don't die "for real" in the same way as you claimed they do in other stories. But now you're claiming that fictional characters can't be hurt or killed in principle. So this means you're now admitting that all that previous talk of yours about how it was something that set specifically my stories apart from 'normal' stories was nonsense.
