you’re overcomplicating my point. my attraction to violence is just as aesthetic-based as it is transgression-based; wounds and injured bodies are wildly attractive to me, simply put. and while it may be easy to find real gore online, most of it is either poorly-recorded, or it’s of people i’m not attracted to. illustrated violence, assuming the artist is skilled, can rectify those issues. the victims are cute, and the wounds can be shown in lovingly-rendered detail that you don’t usually get in real videos. it’s still rooted in my desire to both hurt people and see them hurt in everyday life. illustrations are just a very effective fuel for that fire. i don’t see how this is confusing in the slightest.

to rehash a previous parallel, it’s the same as the dichotomy between real porn and illustrated porn. a lot of people get off on the way illustrated porn can exaggerate and distort sex, but it’s still their base sexual drive that’s making them attracted to the illustrated porn in the first place.
