I'm the one who scanned Mai-chan's Daily Life and originally shared the RAWs on 4chan's /t/ board to much outrage. I didn't have anyone to translate it at the time and it was indeed the short-lived (just a couple weeks IIRC) /g/ board where I found someone who translated that and, I think, two other works for me.

As for what 4chan's /g/ was like, I don't remember much but it definitely got constantly spammed by people who were not happy with that kind of content on their otherwise wholesome family-friendly imageboard.
